This scholarship is for actors who identify as Global Majority / BIPOC and would like to take The Actor’s IPA at a reduced tuition rate. You are eligible if you are a Global Majority / BIPOC actor over the age of 18 who is ready to spend 6 to 8 weeks immersing yourself in exploration of the International Phonetic Alphabet who would find taking the IPA course to be beyond their current means.

Dialect Coaches.com does not have the authority to define the term ‘Global Majority’ so we defer to the definitions that you can find here.

The Actor’s IPA is a 78-lesson, on-demand course that teaches how to use the International Phonetic Alphabet to learn accents more quickly. It is created specifically for actors and taught by five professional dialect coaches.

Definitely not. The Actor’s IPA is not just about memorizing symbols. It is a practical system for listening more closely, understanding speech more clearly, and building stronger tools for accent work.

• The course is designed to help actors use the International Phonetic Alphabet in practical accent work. It can help you:

  • expand your range of sounds and speech patterns

• make more deliberate, repeatable speech choices

Yes. Scholarship recipients will be asked to share their feedback about their experience with The Actors IPA. Your feedback will help us understand what is working well, where the course can be improved, and how we can better support future students.

Approved applicants may take The Actor’s IPA for $75 instead of the standard $495 tuition.
